The 4 physicians of Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC of Sleepy Hollow, NY joined Children's and Women's Physicians of Westchester in April 2010.
The announcement was made by both Leonard Newman MD, President and Chairman of CWPW and Dan Handelsman, MD, Senior Partner of Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC.
The association adds to the already vast pediatric medical subspecialties offered by CWPW and its network of offices throughout the Lower Hudson Valley and Connecticut.
The four staff physicians of Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC provide state of the art general pediatric medicine; Dr. Handelsman also practices as a pediatric endocrinologist.
“We are very pleased to have the Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC affiliated with CWPW,” said Leonard Newman MD. “As a Division of CWPW, Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC also formalizes its affiliation with Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.”
Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC is continuing its forward momentum. Two years ago, the group relocated from Briarcliff, NY to its current location in Sleepy Hollow, NY. Now, the alignment with CWPW provides added benefits in serving the region's children with many specialists at its disposal.
Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC will retain its identity, Dr. Handelsman explains. Its website, www.briarcliffpeds.com, will be altered shortly to reflect the practice's new affiliation with CWPW.

According to David Costabile, MD, "merging the two practices makes sense on many levels. This is a very positive move for Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC, as well as for CWPW. This is a joining of two very strong pediatric-driven practices, and our two groups are going to thrive and improve each other.”
"With Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC focused on general pediatrics and CWPW featuring a range of subspecialties, the merger is complementary in many respects", Dr. Costabile insists. “We will work closely with CWPW's subspecialties. The result of the fusion of the two groups", he adds, “will result in better communication and stronger relationships. For Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC, its link with CWPW will improve the practice by providing increased access to subspecialty medical care.”
Kristin Roye, MD, feels that the alignment with CWPW will help the doctors do what they do best — "heal and help children". Dr. Roye notes that the pediatricians “do alot of preventive care; we work hard to keep children well.”
“It's hard to be a child nowadays,” Dr. Roye adds. “And it's tough to be an adolescent.” As such, she notes that the practice maintains relationships with patients through age 21. “It's nice to have a constant in your pediatric care,” she says, "rather than having patients bounce from one doctor to another for care and treatment through their development."
Margaret Jahn, MD, has been associated with Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, PC since September 2006, and feels the new relationship with CWPW "is absolutely an enhancement of services to the children of the Lower Hudson Valley. We've always referred many of our patients to CWPW for subspecialty care", she explains. “CWPW has a large presence in the region, so it's very complementary.”
